Facial Reanimation

The Beginning

Right after my TBI & Strokes, I could not move any parts of my face. My facial physical therapist saw a picture of me 'smiling' at the hospital and she exclaimed, "there are no contours!"

Small Steps

It has been two years since my accident and I can move SOME parts of my face. Very small parts, but I'll take it! My doctor looked at me and said that my case is quite complex. I have a mixed bilateral facial paralysis and my case is no where in the textbooks.

Facial Physical Therapy

I have NEVER heard of this, and you'll soon understand why! My facial physical therapist is the only one in the state of Virginia! Luckily, she only lives an hour from me. I can make that work!

Surgery

Yes, I have made some very minute progress in facial physical therapy, but I want a more long-term result. We are going to go with surgery on both sides of my face!
